MECKLENBURG – THIS COUNTRY NEEDS NO NEW ROADS
On to new destinations! After the extremely successful response to our new tours in the south of Germany, it made sense to add the north to our portfolio.
In a biosphere area where cranes and wild geese make a stopover on their journey to and from their winter quarters, in an area where many roofs are covered with thatch and where the reconstruction of the East has fortunately stopped at asphalting and road construction in time, we invite you to a fantastic Enduro gourmet tour. Come with us to one of the most beautiful regions in Eastern Germany! There is probably no more suitable vehicle than our kind of motorbikes to get from A to B here on the direct route. The paved main village road changes abruptly into a sandy connecting track to the next village, with forest tracks and field paths in between – all public roads and completely legal to ride on.
Let yourself be overwhelmed by picture-book landscapes in combination with moderately challenging enduro riding without having to cross a national border into the destination area. The final conviction of how beautiful it is here will be our rustic inn with its formidable cuisine, just like in your “mother’s house”, where we will be staying for all three nights.
The tour is not so much aimed at ambitious rally aspirants – it is about discovering possibly unknown but beautiful corners of Germany.
TOUR COURSE
DAY 1: Arriving by 6pm at our guesthouse near Zarrentin. Big hello, moving into the accomodations, unloading and assembling the rented roadbook holders. Then a short welcome and up to the table. After dinner, if necessary, a short introductory course on roadbook driving.
DAY 2: After the final preparations for man and machine, we will start at 10 a.m. at the latest and after a detailed briefing on our first part of the 160-kilometre route. Among other things, we will pass through a part of the nature reserve between Schalsee and Schwerin Lake. The level of difficulty and the length of the route have been chosen so that there is enough time to enjoy the landscape impressions.
DAY 3: We set off today on sandy and forest paths at 9am at the latest for our 200 kilometre long stage through forests and meadows towards the Elbe Valley. The route includes a bypass of a former military training area and real deep sand tracks, which can not only be a real strain on your stamina, but also require you to open the throttle a bit more. Geographically, you feel as if you are in a completely different region.
DAY 4: On our third day of riding, we again cut back a little – the menu only shows 120 kilometres today – because we still have the journey home to make. Today we ride on gravel roads and dirt tracks along the former border line. Every now and then we will ride a short stretch on the border strip – where it is allowed. Once again we let the landscape take its toll on us and we should actually be back at our base around 2pm.

TOTAL DISTANCE
Approximately 500 kilometers, 80% off-road, 120-220 kilometers day stages.
ITINERARY
The tour leads along the countless connecting paths between the individual towns and villages of Mecklenburg. Forest passages alternate with armour plate or cobblestone tracks and small asphalt roads or gravel paths. And there are also a few single trails. The ground itself is sandy to a decent extent. In wet weather, however, the track is a little soggy in places and we therefore clearly recommend proper off-road tyres.
DRIVING SKILLS
The routes of this tour have been selected so that they can also be ridden by enduro riders with large enduro bikes, but then proper studded tyres are a must. Off-road experience in the form of a training course or completed gravel kilometres is certainly helpful, but not absolutely necessary. However, the sometimes deep sandy passages should not be underestimated. So, solid basic driving skills and ultimately a little stamina are required. Not a tour for absolute beginners!
CLOTHING
Complete Enduro protective clothing. We recommend Enduro boots, pants and jackets with elbow or chest armor, knee protectors made of hard plastic, Enduro helmet, shatter-proof glasses.
OVERNIGHT STAYS
Our accommodation is close to the Schalsee and is a traditional inn with excellent cuisine – all the products on the table are from regional producers or from our own garden. There is a wonderful beer garden and there is also plenty of space for parked vehicles or small care and maintenance activities on the motorbikes.
