SWABIAN ALB – ALLGÄU
BEST IN SOUTHWEST

“Grüß Gott” to our beginners Enduro Tour over the rough Swabian Alb and the Danubian Mountains to Lake Constance and back!

True to the motto “Why go far, see what’s good is so close”, we have expanded our range a little downwards since 2018. This tidbit and appetiser is intended to make entering the world of roadbookTours as easy as possible! No travelling far to the destination, no changing your tyres to fat studs and no tricky navigation tasks. On this 3-day tour we benefit from the adopted and truly incredible local knowledge of the jack-of-all-trades and long-time motorbike editor Werner “Mini” Koch, who knows the region and routes like the back of his hand as a passionate MTB and enduro rider. Our tour will be guided in a classic way and can thus be adapted individually – or according to the weather conditions – and no one will be overtaxed.

The tour is not so much aimed at the wild Enduro dirt riders – with this tour we want to draw attention to how beautiful it is in our area and what an ingenious network of (gravel) trails there still is to ride legally here!

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Individual arrival at the starting point in Weilheim/Teck by 10.30 am. Saying hello, a short greeting and a few words about group riding. At 11.00 a.m., we finally set off for the heights of the Swabian Alb. A first fuel stop is planned after about 120 kilometres, and by the time our stomachs start to growl, we should be on the southern plateau in the direction of the Danube valley and have found an inn. We continue across the Donaubergland and its small side valleys to our accommodation for the evening and night. Now the time has finally come for a cool refreshing drink and we are eagerly awaiting the evening’s topics of conversation after we have indulged in the Baden-Swabian cuisine…

DAY 2: We start at 9 a.m. today, because we have a lot planned: the Hegau will be taken under our wheels today. Wonderful gravel sections alternate with breathtaking views of the Swabian Sea. Then, in the afternoon, another highlight: the lovingly prepared enduro track of Emmingen-Liptingen is at our disposal – provided we have the motivation – for one or two laps. Of course, we’ll also get a tip or two from our scout! It should be clear that after our return to our familiar accommodation, dinner will taste even better today!

DAY 3: Today at the latest, seasoned enduro and motorbike riders will realise that there are sensationally beautiful landscapes and routes here “at home” and that you definitely don’t always have to go abroad. One valley and pass meander seamlessly follows the next. We slowly wind our way north. Even today, distances cannot simply be expressed in kilometres, but the driving time has to be taken into account. In the late afternoon, our trip home ends at the starting point of the tour.

TOTAL DISTANCE

Approximately 600 kilometers, 30% Off-Road, day stages 200 – 250 kilometers.

ROUTE

The route leads across narrow, small asphalt roads or gravel roads across the Swabian Alb towards the Danube Valley. Even in wet weather, the route is easy to ride with normal road enduro tires and large adventure bikes. If the ground is too much softened or wet, we avoid the critical passages.

DRIVING SKILLS

DRIVING SKILLS

The gravel sections of this tour have been selected so that they can be ridden by endurists with heavy machines. Off-road experience in the form of a training course or completed gravel kilometres is certainly helpful, but not absolutely necessary. Not to be underestimated, however, are the really small roads where you swing from bend to bend all day. So, solid basic driving skills, good cornering technique and ultimately stamina are required. Not a tour for absolute beginners!

TIRES

We are partly on gravel roads, but not on the “Dakar”. With the serial tire the non-asphalted sections are thus easily feasible. Should it rain, we may take detours for some off-road passages.

GROUP DRIVING

The gravel roads of this tour are so selected that they can be driven by endurists with adventure bikes. Off-road experience in the form of a course or completed gravel kilometer is certainly helpful, but not absolutely necessary. Not to be underestimated are however the really small streets, where you swing the whole day from curve to curve. So, solid basic driving, good cornering technique and ultimately also endurance are required. No tour for absolute beginners!

CLOTHING

Complete protective clothing. We recommend enduro boots and a functional and well ventilated motorcycle clothing, the knee pads can stay at home.

OVERNIGHT STAY

Our accommodation is an inn in a fantastic location in the middle of the nature reserve on the young Danube. After a busy day, the beer garden invites you to enjoy a cool drink before enjoying the delicacies of the evening meal. We are accommodated in double rooms with shower/WC, for an extra charge also in single rooms.

3 driving days, 2 hotel accommodation in a double room with half board, tour guide, technical support, travel security note.
